Arrive at Blantyre’s Chileka International Airport, where our friendly guide welcomes you. Enjoy a comfortable transfer to the elegant Protea Hotel Ryalls, a historic 4-star hotel in the city centre.
Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to explore Blantyre’s vibrant markets, visit Mandala House (Malawi’s oldest building), or unwind at the hotel’s terrace with a refreshing drink. In the evening, savor a gourmet Malawian dinner as you prepare for the adventure ahead.
After breakfast, you will head up north to the stunning Luwawa Forest Lodge. Here you will be accommodated in en-suite family chalets on a full-board basis. Your stay is for 1 night.
Located in the Viphya Mountains in northern Malawi, also lies in the beautiful and tranquil Luwawa Valley overlooking Luwawa Dam which is well stocked with a variety of fish including wide-mouthed bream
Luwawa Forest Lodge, Malawi’s Premier Outdoor Activity Centre, has a pleasant and malaria-free climate, at 5500 ft (1700 m) above sea level. It is only 5 miles (8km) east of the main M1 road in the Luwawa Forest Reserve. Access is by means of a good all-weather dirt road only 3.5 hours from Lilongwe.
During your stay, enjoy optional activities on offer at the lodge which include horse riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling, trail walking, canoeing, fishing, birding, orienteering, forest fitness courses, table tennis etc. Equipment for most of the activities and instructors are available for hire.
After breakfast, you will depart from Luwawa Forest Lodge and drive over to the idyllic upland lodge, Chelinda for two nights. Nestled in the highlands of Nyika National Park, Chelinda Lodge is a 16-bedded exclusive classic camp that lies against a magnificent backdrop of towering pine trees.
Chelinda has four chalets which have two bedrooms, a bathroom, a lounge, a dining area with a fireplace, and a small kitchen.
There are also six en-suite rooms with twin beds that share a dining, bar, and lounge area complete with luxurious furnishings and an inviting fireplace for those cozy nights. Nyika National Park is one of Malawi’s most scenic and spectacular wilderness areas. It boasts an incredible mixture of scenery and landscapes. The park is good for sighting game like leopard, Burchell’s zebra, roan antelope, reedbuck, eland, bush buck, warthog, bush pig, spotted hyena, side-striped jackal and serval.
Continue your tour of the north with a transfer to Makuzi Beach, the serene beachfront retreat accommodation, hidden among trees! All the thatched Chalets offer a peaceful nature retreat, offering spectacular views of Lake Malawi and easy beach access. The Makuzi property is well-known for its spectacular gardens which welcome birdlife and beautiful scenery.
You can decide to relax, feel the breeze of the beach or enjoy a variety of activities on offer by the hotel which include boat trips, village walks, spice and bird tours etc. Kayaks and snorkeling gear are free of charge for all guests staying. At Makuzi Beach Lodge, have board games and beach toys to play with.
Make your tour more memorable with a visit to one of Malawi’s magical beach, Sunbird Livingstonia Beach Resort. With transfer time of approximately 6 hours, The resort has air-conditioned suites ranging from double rooms and luxury suites to family rooms and a chalet too. Enjoy comfortable décor, satellite TVs, ensuite showers, spacious bedrooms and a lovely garden and lake views.
Located in the central region of Malawi, in Sengabay, the hotel is a great place to bask in the sun with a beachfront location, windsurfing, and sailing.

All can be arranged at a convenient time in advance or direct with the hotel management at a minimal cost.
Check out and enjoy your private scenic transfer to Liwonde. This scenic drive through the mountains takes around 6.5½ hours. En route to Liwonde National Park, stop at Mua Mission, Malawi’s top cultural museum is situated in Mua, and the Chamare Museum which boasts a wealth of Malawian culture and social history exhibiting traditional arts, crafts,weapons, implements and ornaments.
Arrive at Liwonde National Park, at Mvuu Lodge where you will stay for 3 nights in a safari-style family-tented cottage. With no barriers to the surrounding wilderness, nature casually walks through the camp, and you’ll regularly see elephants, zebra and antelope browsing nearby meaning you don’t need to go far to feel on safari.
In between activities, there are plenty of children’s facilities just a five-minute walk away at Mvuu Lodge’s sister property, Mvuu Camp. Here, you’ll find a children’s play area and ashallow child-friendly pool with sun loungers. In the evening, enjoy a sundowner on the viewing deck and spot Liwonde’s impressive endemic birds through the telescope.
After your breakfast and morning game drive, transfer to Malawi’s commercial city, Blantyre and check in at Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel, a luxurious property set in a prime location in the centre of Blantyre. The transfer time is around 3.5 hours.
With only a distance of 2 hours from Blantyre, Mulanje and Thyolo tour gives you an opportunity to relax as you see the beautiful scenery of the countryside on one hand and seemingly endless tea plantations on the other and on a lucky day, witness the picking of tea as you drive. Explore the estates and learn about how the plantations work.
The Mulanje Mountain, landscapes are dominated by vibrant green tea estates which contrast with beautiful purple jacaranda trees. In the heart of this region is Malawi’s highest peak (the highest mountain in Central Africa – Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia), Mount Mulanje, which rises to over 3000m. The foothills of the mountain are covered in estates, woodlands, rivers and waterfalls and form a beautiful area.

After breakfast, it’s time to finally say goodbye to the Warm Heart of Africa. The driver will drop you off at the airport for your flight back home.
