Arrive at Blantyre’s Chileka International Airport, where our friendly guide welcomes you. Enjoy a comfortable transfer to the elegant Protea Hotel Ryalls, a historic 4-star hotel in the city centre.
Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to explore Blantyre’s vibrant markets, visit Mandala House (Malawi’s oldest building), or unwind at the hotel’s terrace with a refreshing drink. In the evening, savor a gourmet Malawian dinner as you prepare for the adventure ahead.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic 2-hour drive to Majete Wildlife Reserve, Malawi’s premier Big Five destination. Once a depleted park, Majete has been successfully restored and now teems with elephants, lions, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo.
Upon arrival, check in at Mkulumadzi Lodge, a luxurious riverside retreat nestled in the wilderness. Enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out for an exhilarating afternoon game drive, where expert guides will help you track the diverse wildlife. As the sun dips below the horizon, toast to the African wilderness with sundowners by the Shire River.
Wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge. Spend the morning relaxing or taking a short bush walk before we set off on a 3-hour drive to the majestic Mulanje Mountain. Known as the “Island in the Sky,” Mulanje is home to stunning peaks, lush forests, and some of the best hiking trails in Africa.
Upon arrival, settle into your accommodation and take some time to explore the area. You may opt for a short nature walk or visit the nearby tea plantations, which produce some of the finest Malawian tea. In the evening, enjoy a warm meal as you prepare for your mountain trek.
After an early breakfast, we begin our trek from Likhubula to Chambe Hut. The hike takes you through scenic trails, passing through ancient cedar forests, sparkling streams, and panoramic viewpoints. This moderate trek is perfect for acclimatizing to the mountain and offers stunning photo opportunities.
Reaching Chambe Hut in the afternoon, you can rest, enjoy a warm meal, and take in the spectacular mountain views. For those feeling energetic, a short exploration around the plateau will reveal breathtaking landscapes.
For the adventurous, wake up before sunrise to begin the challenging 5-hour round-trip trek to Sapitwa Peak (3,002m)—the highest point in Malawi. The climb winds through rocky trails, hidden caves, and dramatic landscapes, offering breathtaking views over Malawi and Mozambique.
After celebrating at the summit, we descend via Lichenya Hut and CCAP Hut (5-6 hours) before transferring to Zomba Plateau, a 2-hour drive away. Check into Sunbird Ku Chawe, a charming lodge perched atop the plateau, and enjoy a well-earned rest with panoramic valley views.
Wake up to the cool mountain breeze and enjoy breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lush landscapes of Zomba. Today, we explore Emperor’s View & Queen’s View, two stunning lookout points offering breathtaking vistas over the Shire Valley.
By mid-morning, we set off on a 5-hour drive to Lake Malawi, arriving at Club Makokola Retreat, a luxurious beachfront resort with golden sands and crystal-clear waters. Spend the afternoon relaxing or enjoying optional kayaking, snorkeling, or a sunset cruise.

After breakfast, take a 2-hour drive to Senga Bay, where a short boat transfer brings you to Blue Zebra Island Lodge, an eco-luxury retreat on Marelli Island within Lake Malawi National Park. Spend your days enjoying private beaches, kayaking, or exploring the lush landscapes of the island.
Savor your final days in paradise, indulging in water sports, snorkeling safaris, or simply lounging on the pristine beaches. A sunset cocktail on your last evening is the perfect way to reflect on your adventure.
After a leisurely breakfast, we take a boat transfer back to Senga Bay and drive to Lilongwe (2.5 hours). En route, we visit Mua Mission Cultural Center, home to the Chamare Museum, which showcases Malawi’s rich cultural heritage through its art and traditions.
Arriving in Lilongwe by late afternoon, enjoy a farewell dinner at Umodzi Park, reminiscing about your incredible journey through Malawi.
After your breakfast, you will check out and have your final private transfer to Kamazu International Airport for your international flight home.
